by The Cape Breton Victoria Regional Centre for Education says schools North of Smokey will begin to dismiss students at noon today.
It says the early dismissal will begin at Cabot Education Centre, followed by the elementary schools.
Meanwhile, school is also cancelled today for schools in northwestern Cape Breton and parts of the mainland because of the winter storm.
Classes are cancelled at Cape Breton Highlands Education Centre and Academy, Pleasant Bay School and NDA School in Cheticamp.
Classes are also cancelled at all schools in the Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education that covers Cumberland, Colchester and Pictou Counties as well as the Municipality of East Hants.
