Eagles Hire New Head Coach

The Cape Breton Eagles have announced the hiring of a new head coach.

Chadd Cassidy’s coaching experience includes a role as assistant coach with the US team when it won gold at the 2011 Under-18 World Championship in Germany.

The Lake Placid, New York native also spent four years with the AHL’s Rochester Americans, including two and a half years as head coach.

The Eagles say Cassidy will arrive in Cape Breton in the coming weeks, pending the approval of his Canadian work permit.

He replaces former coach Jake Grimes, who resigned in November.
