Drug Addiction Meeting Tonight in Glace Bay

The second public meeting organized by a group concerned about drug addictions in the Regional Municipality will take place in Glace Bay, tonight.

More than 300 people came out for the first meeting organized by A Town That Cares in New Waterford, last month.

The group is also pushing for a mental health and addictions facility in the Regional Municipality and has started a petition on its Facebook page.

It says it plans to hold other public meetings in the municipality.

Among the speakers tonight will be board member and Sydney doctor Venkata Puppala.

Several speakers are expected to share personal stories about mental health and addictions.

The meeting is due to start at 7:00 at the Glace Bay Fire Hall.
