The head of maintenance enforcement for the province says a drop in the use of key enforcement tools by its workers is directly related to the centralization of its operations in New Waterford. Judy Crump says the decision made by the former NDP government resulted in a 70 percent turnover in staff. She adds the new employees face a steep learning curve. One of the most noticeable differences after the move is a drop of 30 percent in the garnishee of wages from those behind in child support payments. Crump says the Department is currently reviewing operations to try and improve service.
