Dozens of Small Power Outages After Yesterday’s Freezing Rain

There are still dozens of small power outages in Cape Breton in the wake of yesterday’s freezing rain.

Nova Scotia Power’s outage map shows a total of 54 outages on the Island affecting 134 customers.

Most are in the Regional Municipality.

Most of the estimated restoration times are 11:00, this morning.

Meanwhile, students at Brookland Elementary in Sydney won’t be in school for the third day in a row, today.

The Cape Breton-Victoria School Board says staff is getting classrooms ready at the school after the building was closed for repairs following the Thanksgiving Day flood.
