The stop work order at the Donkin Mine has been lifted after more than five months.
The order was put in place in July after the latest of two roof falls and the Labour Department released a list of requirements last month for the mine to be able to re-open.
The Department says Kameron Coal has met the first phase of the requirements by updating its hazard assessment classification system and adding further monitoring measures in the tunnel.
The second phase requires the company to hire an independent third-party engineer to review its ground control plan before February 29th.
The mine is allowed to operate during the winter months when humidity is lower and not affecting its infrastructure.
