Donkin Mine Owner Considering Sale

One of the companies involved with the Donkin Mine says the owner is considering selling the operation.

Morien Resources owns a 2-4% production royalty on coal sales from the mine.

It says it got word from owner and operator Kameron Collieries of its intent to explore a sale of its hundred percent ownership.

Morien says it understands Kameron is in the early stages of starting the sale process and it hasn’t yet entered into any binding sale agreement.

The mine stopped production in July of 2023 after a couple of roof falls.

The Labour Department gave the mine permission to resume year-round production the following March but it’s still been idle since then.
