A trial continues today for a Sydney man accused of trying to have his ex-wife killed.
53 year-old Roderick Domoslai is facing two counts of counselling to commit murder, one of counselling to commit arson and one count each of obstruction and perjury.
Erin Maxwell, from North Sydney, testified last week he was paid 20,000 dollars by Domoslai to arrange for the death of Domoslai’s ex-wife, Dawn McNeil.
A cross examination of Maxwell was held up after Domoslai’s initial defence lawyer, Laura McCarthy, cited ethical reasons for wanting to step away from the case.
McCarthy’s husband and business partner, Lyle Howe, sought to take the case but was denied.
Halifax lawyer Ray Kuskelewski was allowed to take the case but said he needed more time to prepare for Maxwell’s cross-examination.
