Dominion Man in Court Today on New Charge

A Dominion man facing new charges in connection to a shooting incident in 2005 is due in court today for an arraignment.

50 year-old Nelson Kenneth MacPhee pleaded guilty to manslaughter in 2007 in the shooting death of Kenneth Seymour in Glace Bay.

He also pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in the shooting of Seymour’s brother, Donald, who died in 2012.

The Crown recently decided to upgrade the aggravated assault charge to manslaughter.

Its case will depend on proving that Donald Seymour’s death was connected to the injuries he suffered, seven years earlier.

MacPhee remains in federal prison, where he’s serving a 17-year sentence.
