DNR Scanning Wildfires For Hot Spots

The Department of Natural Resources says its helicopters will be flying over wildfires in the province using infra red scanners to look for hot spots starting today.

It says the scanning will help ground crews put out the fires.

DNR goes on to say the scanning will be done between 5 and 9 AM when weather allows and it could take up to a week.

Meanwhile, the department says the Barrington Lake wildfire in Shelburne County is still not under control and it’s still estimated at about 235 square kilometres in size.
