Discussions Start Today On COVID-19 Safety For Healthcare Workers

The province’s chief medical officer Dr. Robert Strang says discussions are starting today on how to keep healthcare workers safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He says those discussions will include the use personal protective equipment or PPE.

The Health Authority’s current direction to healthcare workers is personal protective equipment is only necessary when dealing with patients who have COVID-19 or another respiratory illness.

Health Authority CEO Dr. Brendan Carr says they have a good supply of the equipment.
