Diesel Up After Interrupter Clause Invoked

The price of diesel went up overnight after the Energy Board used its interrupter clause to change the price early this week.

Diesel increased by 7.6 cents a litre and now goes for a minimum of $1.48.8 in Cape Breton.

The board says the change was necessary because of significant shifts in the market price for diesel with the conflict between Israel and Iran escalating.

Meanwhile, the price of gas didn’t change, overnight.

A litre of gas still goes for a minimum of $1.41.2 cents on the island.
