A brand of portable propane heaters is being recalled because of a fire hazard.
Health Canada says the DeWalt 70,000-BTU outdoor portable forced air propane heater is affected.
The federal department says if the heater’s on/off button is pressed too quickly, it could appear to turn on, but without the fan starting.
It says that could lead to overheating and possible melting of plastic before the overheat safety device engages and shuts the heater down.
It says anyone who has the heater should immediately stop using it and contact the company Enerco to get new instructions for the heater and a free warning sticker with the instructions.
