Detour Around George and Townsend Streets To Continue, Today

The Regional Municipality says a detour around the intersection of George and Townsend Streets in Sydney will continue today.

The detour was put in place yesterday to allow for water main upgrades, and will be in place again today to allow for repaving.

Workers will return to the site at 7:00 this morning, and the detour is expected to remain in place until mid-afternoon.

The closure affects George Street from Brookland to Falmouth Street and Townsend Street from Bentinck to Douglas Street.

The municipality also says businesses along the affected route will be open and adds all efforts will be made to provide customer access.

The detour will also affect the Number 8, 11 and 13 transit buses.
