Deliveries Expected Today to Deal with Provincial Gas Shortage

Officials say a gas shortage across the province will begin to be addressed, today.

Gas stations in several areas are now completely out of regular gas and other grades of fuel.

Imperial Oil says the shortage was caused by a delay in getting fuel to its Dartmouth terminal.

Spokesperson Merle MacIsaac says two delivery ships that were delayed in arriving in Dartmouth last week finally arrived on Friday and over the weekend.

MacIsaac adds he doesn’t know why the ships were delayed.

He goes on to say trucks with regular fuel are expected to hit the road to start making deliveries by mid-day, today.

However, he says it will be several more days before trucks with supreme gasoline can start making deliveries.
