Some grocery store veggie trays and salads containing broccoli are being pulled from store shelves due to possible listeria contamination.
The trays and salads were sold either pre-packaged or clerk-served at the deli counters in Sobey’s, Foodland, and Co-op stores across the Maritimes up to and including August 13.
Symptoms of listeria can include vomiting, persistent fever, severe headache and neck stiffness.
The Canada Food Inspection Agency says any recalled broccoli-containing deli products should be thrown out or brought back to the store where purchased.
