Deadline for CBRM CAO Job

Today is the deadline for people to apply for the job of chief administrative officer in the CBRM.

Back in January, Cape Breton regional council hired a Toronto headhunting firm to interview potential candidates and come up with a short list.

Organization Consulting Limited is working in partnership with Courage Group International, which has consultants based in Halifax, Ontario and Quebec.

The companies bid $33,390 to carry out the work.

A six-member Regional Council committee will guide the selection process.

Committee Chair Kevin Saccary says they hope to meet in the next 10 days to start their work.

He adds the new CAO should be chosen by the end of April.

CBRM Finance Director Marie Walsh has served as interim CAO since Jerry Ryan retired from the post in January of last year.

Walsh says she’s interested in the CAO job and was expected to apply.
