The Department of Community Services says it’s working with service providers and partners to make sure people experiencing homelessness have access to more support during the rainy weather in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow.
It says the Cape Breton Community Housing Association Shelter at 106 Townsend Street in Sydney is open 24/7 with the ability to expand, pending weather conditions.
It says the Ally Centre at 75 Prince Street in Sydney is also open 24/7.
The Department says anyone looking for emergency supports, including overnight shelter beds, can call 211 to be connected to services.
