Crew Member On Marine Atlantic Ferry Tests Positive For COVID-19

The Marine Atlantic ferry MV Blue Puttees has been taken out of service after Nova Scotia Public Health says a crew member tested positive for COVID-19.

The Crown Corporation says all crew members who were on the ferry and completed their shift as well as all crew members currently on the vessel will be tested.

It says crew members will isolate on the ferry until results are received.

Meanwhile, this morning’s crossing from North Sydney has been cancelled along with tonight’s departure from Port aux Basques.

Marine Atlantic says he MV Highlanders will remain in service and the MV Atlantic Vision is currently preparing to enter service if it’s needed in the days ahead.
