Crash at Northside Downs Sends Three to Hospital

Three harness racers were sent to hospital after a crash at Northside Downs on the weekend.

All suffered non-life-threatening injuries and the horses involved in the mishap escaped with minor injuries.

The injured drivers are Danny Campbell, Rod Hurley and John Beaton.

Beaton had to be airlifted to Halifax hospital and his wife Kim says he suffered broken ribs and also injured his back.

The crash happened after one of the horses fell during the race, causing a pile up.

It was the season finale at Northside Downs on Saturday.
