COVID Means Changes For Annual Food Bank Fundraiser

An annual fundraiser for local food banks is going ahead this year with a COVID-19 twist.

MacLeod Fuels November Food Drive usually sees its oil truck drivers and office staff collecting food donations from customers for the month, but that’s not safe to do this year because of the pandemic.

Instead, the company says customers will be given the opportunity to donate money to the Food Drive every time they buy furnace oil.

MacLeod Fuels says it’ll match every donation made up to $10,000.00.

The money raised will go to the Saint Vincent De Paul Society in New Waterford, Loaves and Fishes in Sydney and the Glace Bay Food Bank.
