COVID Alert App Available In NS

People in the province can now download Health Canada’s free COVID Alert App to their phones.

The Alert can be downloaded through the Apple or Google Play app stores.

An app user who tests positive for COVID-19 will be given a code by the Health Authority to input into COVID Alert.

Other users with the app whose phones were within two metres for at least 15 minutes of the infected person’s phone will be notified they may have been exposed to COVID-19.

The province says the COVID Alert doesn’t collect personal or health information and does not know or track the location, name, or contacts of any user.
