COVID-19 Border Restrictions With Newfoundland And Labrador Come Into Effect On Wednesday

New COVID-19 border controls with Newfoundland and Labrador come into effect at 8:00 this morning.

From that hour, people entering Nova Scotia from Newfoundland and Labrador will have to complete the Nova Scotia Safe Check-in form before arriving.

They’ll then have to quarantine for 14 days when they arrive in the province.

Nova Scotians returning from Newfoundland and Labrador will also have to quarantine for 14 days, unless they’re exempt from the order.

Exceptions include certain workers who have to travel for their jobs and people traveling to and from essential health services.

There’s been a recent spike in COVID cases in Newfoundland and Labrador with that province reporting 30 new cases yesterday.
