Councillor Eldon MacDonald Proposes Heavy Garbage Collection Every Second Year

Regional Councillor Eldon MacDonald is proposing the municipality’s annual heavy garbage pickup be reduced to every second year to save money.

MacDonald says heavy garbage collection costs about 250-thousand dollars a year.

He also says sidewalks and roadsides become eyesores with piles of garbage put out to be collected.

MacDonald says this year’s heavy garbage pickup will go ahead but he says he’s proposing the change for future years.
