Council Votes To Support Louisbourg Project

Regional Council has voted to help kickstart a waterfront project in Louisbourg.

Synergy Louisbourg wants to build a visitor centre and other attractions in the town.

The group has asked the CBRM to contribute a million dollars over four years to the project.

Yesterday, Council voted to give land now being used for an RV Park to the group as well as 40-thousand dollars for a feasibility study.

The municipality is also planning to commit another 400-thousand dollars to the project, next year.

Snergy Louisbourg President Dorothy Payne says the CBRM’s contribution will help them to start the process of approaching the other levels of government.
