Regional Councillors are scheduled to meet in-camera at 4:00 this afternoon ahead of their public council meeting at 6:00 this evening.
The subject of the behind-closed-doors gathering has not been released but District 8 councillor Amanda McDougall says she expects the meeting will be about Mayor Cecil Clarke’s recent trip to China to discuss the Port of Sydney.
McDougall has already gone public to express her frustration with the lack of information given to councillors in advance of this afternoon’s meeting.
Clarke has refused to speak to the media about his trip to China before meeting with Council, today.
Clarke was joined on his trip to China by Regional CAO Marie Walsh along with provincial Business Minister Geoff MacLellan and the chiefs of Membertou and Eskasoni.
