Council Approves Marketing Levy Increase

Regional Council voted this morning to approve an increase in the room marketing levy on accommodations such as motels and hotels.

The levy will go up from 2 percent to three percent on January 1^st of 2024.

The motion also removes the 10-room threshold for the levy.

Council also voted to approve the contract with inside workers who voted to accept a new collective agreement last week.
