Council Approves Changes To Pave Way For Sydney Waterfront Development

Regional Council approved changes to make way for a hotel and apartment development on the Sydney waterfront during a special meeting, this morning.

Doucet Developments’ Edgewater project on the Esplanade will include a hotel and apartment building as well as possible condos.

In order for the project to go ahead some municipally-owned land has to be deemed surplus.

There also has to be a formal closure of a proposed street to service a former development with Harbour Royale Development Limited.

Council voted unanimously to approve those measures, this morning.

Work on the project is expected to begin late this year or early next year.
