The Nova Scotia Council of Nursing Unions says contract talks came to a halt today, without reaching a final agreement.
The Council of Nursing Unions represents more than 10,000 registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nurse practitioners.
The nurses are members of the NSNU, NSGEU, CUPE and Unifor and work for the Health Authority and the IWK.
The Unions say work-life issues and competitive wages and benefits are the main outstanding issues.
They say they’ll now file for conciliation with the hope a conciliation officer can mediate a settlement that’s acceptable to both sides.
