Conciliation Talks Resume With Teachers

The province and the Teachers Union are resuming conciliation talks, today.

Three days have been set aside for negotiations that are taking place as teachers continue a work-to-rule campaign that began on December 5th.

Teachers’ Union president Liette Doucet says she’s hopeful the government is willing to negotiate in good faith.

She adds she’s confident they can get a tentative deal if that happens.

Meanwhile, Education Minister Karen Casey says working conditions continue to be the biggest concern for teachers she’s hearing from.

She adds the government is willing to talk about that issue.
