Community Meeting with New Donkin Mine Owners

The company that’s sold its majority share in the Donkin Mine plans to hold a community meeting in the near future.

Glencore Xstrata spokesperson Val Istomen says representatives from new owners the Cline Group will also attend.

Istomen adds he expects the changeover in ownership to take two to three months.

He says the new owners won’t have to go through a prolonged process to get the mine operational because Glencore Xstrata has maintained all the pre-project requirements and finished the environmental assessments.

Istomen predicts the mine will create 300 direct jobs and minority shareholder Morien Resources says it could be operational by 2016.
