Regional Police Chief Peter McIsaac says he’s concerned about training and other costs as his force gets ready for legal cannabis.
McIsaac says officers will have to be trained to recognize drug impaired drivers and how to use new roadside drug screening devices.
He says he’s worried there won’t be enough coming from the federal and provincial governments to cover those costs.
Mayor Cecil Clarke says he’s also concerns about the costs the municipality will have to absorb to deal with legal cannabis.
