Charges Laid In Sydney Store Robbery

Regional Police say a 36-year-old Sydney man is facing a robbery charge after the Needs Convenience on George Street in Sydney was robbed on Sunday night.

Police say they responded to an alarm at the store shortly after 11:00.

They say the clerk reported a man approached the counter threatening he had a weapon and demanded cash.

He left the store with cash and cigarettes but police say officers caught up to him near Bentinck and George Streets, where he was arrested.

Police say Shawn Robert Hall has also been charged with several Breaches of Probation.
