Changes Made for Remembrance Day Events at Taigh Na Mara, Harbourview

The provincial Health Authority says there will be changes to Remembrance Day Services at veterans’ long-term care homes this year because of COVID-19.

The Health Authority has contracts with Veterans Affairs to offer care at seven veterans’ long-term care homes in the province, including Taigh na Mara in Glace Bay and Harbourview Hospital in Sydney Mines.

People are being told not to expect a public gathering at the facilities this year unless an invitation has been received.

The Health Authority says each long-term care facility will have its own private events in a way that balances the recognition of veterans with the need to protect many of the province’s most vulnerable people.
