CCA’s Getting Pay Raise

Premier Tim Houston has announced wage increases for continuing care assistants as their industry faces challenges with recruitment and retention during the pandemic.

Wages for unionized and non-unionized CCAs at all levels in the publicly funded system will go up by about 23 percent starting tomorrow, bringing the top annual salary to over $48,000.

Groups with collective agreements that are already settled will be adjusted upward to the new levels and those not yet settled will incorporate the new pay scales.

Collective bargaining will continue, and CCAs will not have to wait until bargaining ends to get the increase.

Details and timing of implementation will be determined by individual employers working with unions.
