CBU Talks Resume This Afternoon

Conciliation talks between Cape Breton University and its Faculty Association are due to resume this afternoon.

The latest round of negotiations comes after the union issued a strike notice when talks broke off earlier this month.

The Faculty Association says it will call for a strike to begin on Monday if a deal isn’t reached by Saturday.

The association has been in a legal strike position since December 26th and a strike or lockout can happen with 48 hours notice.

The main issue in the contract dispute is a so-called layoff clause.
