CBU Faculty Sets Strike Date

The Faculty Association at Cape Breton University has set a strike date of a week from today.

The move comes after contract talks with a conciliator failed.

However, the union says there’s still hope a deal will be reached at the negotiating table during last-ditch efforts.

The union says the main outstanding issues include job security and wages.

The university is offering a two per cent increase a year over a three-year period plus a $1,500 signing bonus.

The Faculty Association is looking for a total increase of 17.4 per cent over the next two years.
