CBRM Now In Green On Fire Danger Map

The CBRM is now green or moderate on the national fire danger map after being in the red or extreme yesterday.

Fire danger measures how easy it is to ignite vegetation, how hard a fire may be to control, and how much damage a fire can do.

Red or extreme means fast-spreading, high-intensity fires that are very difficult to control.

Green or moderate means creeping or gentle surface fires that are easily contained by ground crews.

Meanwhile, the CBRM and almost the entire province is in red on the provincial burn map which means no burning or fires of any kind are allowed.

The burn map is updated at 2:00 in the afternoon every day.

The fine for violating daily burn restrictions is $25,000.
