Statistics Canada says Cape Breton’s unemployment rate was 13.3 percent in January.
That’s unchanged from December and compares with a jobless rate of 10.3 percent in January of last year.
Meanwhile, the national unemployment rate fell a tenth of a percentage points to 5.7 percent, last month.
The federal agency says that’s the first decline since December of 2022.
Nova Scotia’s jobless rate for January was 6.4 percent.
