Cape Breton hospitals saw some the most frequent emergency department closures in the province in the past fiscal year.
The Health Department released its newest report on ER closures today, covering the period between April 1st of 2017 and March 31st of 2018.
Scheduled closures at the Northside General Hospital were the highest in the province at a total of 6,087 hours.
The New Waterford ER had the third most frequent scheduled closures after Musquodoboit Valley.
The Glace Bay ER had the second highest number of temporary closures at 1,835 hours.
The hospital was also open for only 79% of its scheduled hours.
That was the second lowest percentage in the province.
