CB On CNN, Today

Cape Breton will be on CNN, today.

A crew from the U-S news channel was on the Island shooting a spot that will air today on CNN International’s global affairs program Amanpour, hosted by Christiane Amanpour.

The news giant was brought to the Island thanks to the unexpected popularity of the joke website Cape Breton if Donald Trump Wins.

The site encourages U-S citizens to move to the Island if Trump becomes president and it’s drawn hundreds of thousands of online visits and thousands of inquiries.

Site creator Rob Calabrese was one of the people interviewed for the CNN piece.

They also spoke to Destination Cape Breton CEO Mary Tulle as well as people on the street, a real estate agent in Sydney, and Sydney immigration lawyer Daniel Barry who’s put together a video with tips for people looking to move to Canada.

Tulle says the crew also travelled to Marion Bridge to have a look at a waterfront property.

The Cape Breton segment airs at 3:00 this afternoon on CNN International and is expected to be picked up by other CNN channels.
