Gas and Diesel Up, Again
As predicted, the price of gas went up, overnight.
Gas increased by 2.7 cents a litre and now goes for a minimum of $1.20.2 in Cape Breton.
Diesel went up by 2 cents a litre and now costs a minimum of $1.17 on the Island.

The Public Health Agency of Canada is investigating an outbreak of salmonella infections in this province and in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Agency says exposure to eggs has been identified as a likely source of the outbreak.
The company or companies the eggs came from has not been identified.
There have been 32 lab confirmed cases of salmonella in this province and 25 in Newfoundland and Labrador between October and late January.
The Public Health Agency says 19 people have been hospitalized and no deaths have been reported.
The province is reporting one new case of COVID-19 today.
The new case is in the Western Zone and is still under investigation.
A second case in the Central Zone was reported late yesterday but is being counted today because it was found after yesterday’s cut-off for reporting.
That case is connected to Beaver Bank-Monarch Drive Elementary School in the Halifax area.
There’s now a total of 13 confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia.
Premier Stephen McNeil and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang are scheduled to give another COVID-19 update at 1:00 tomorrow afternoon.
Regional Councillors completed their budget workshops this afternoon.
After three days of draft budget presentations, Mayor Amanda McDougall says council and staff have a lot of work to do over the coming weeks to put together the coming fiscal year’s budget.
At today’s first session, Council got a review of the budget for recreation facilities.
They later got a presentation on the draft capital budget for 2021-22.
The municipality is planning to spend 6 million dollars for work on local streets in the upcoming construction season.

The province is reporting a case of COVID-19 connected to a Halifax area school.
It says the person at Beaver Bank-Monarch Drive Elementary has not been in school since February 12th and is self-isolating.
Health officials say the school will stay closed to students until at least Tuesday while a deep cleaning takes place.
The case reported late yesterday is on top of three others reported earlier in the day, also in the Central Zone.
The province says one of those cases in connected to travel to New Brunswick while the other two are under investigation.
