Cape Breton’s Unemployment Rate 9.2% In August

Stats Canada says Cape Breton’s unemployment rate was 9.2 percent in August.

The compares with an unemployment rate of 8 percent in July and 10.2 percent in August of last year.

Meanwhile, the national employment rate increased to 6.6 percent, last month.

That’s up from 6.4 percent in July.

Nova Scotia’s jobless rate in August was 6.9%, up from 6.4% in July.
