Cape Breton’s Unemployment Rate 11% In January

Statistics Canada says Cape Breton’s unemployment rate was 11% in January.

That’s up from 9.3% in December but down from 13.5% in January of last year.

Meanwhile, the national jobless rate dropped a tenth of percentage point in January to 6.6%

Nova Scotia’s unemployment rate last month was 6.1%.

That’s up from 5.9 percent in December.
