Cape Breton’s March Unemployment Rate 10.6%

Statistics Canada say Cape Breton’s unemployment rate was 10.6 percent in March.

That compares with a jobless rate of 10.4 percent in February and 13.2 percent in March of last year.

Meanwhile, the national unemployment rate held steady again at 5 percent in March.

The federal agency says the national economy added 35,000 jobs last month.

Nova Scotia’s unemployment rate for March was 6.1 percent.
