Cape Breton RCMP Officer Facing Uttering A Threat Charge

A Cape Breton RCMP officer has been charged with uttering a threat after an investigation by the province’s police watchdog.

52 year-old Staff Sergeant Nelson Salter is due in court to enter a plea to the charge on September 17th.

He’s accused of uttering a threat to cause death or bodily harm on July 3rd in Sydney River.

The RCMP referred the matter to the Serious Incident Response Team after they were contacted by a woman claiming she had been assaulted and threatened by her husband who’s a member of the RCMP.
