Canadian Onboard Missing Egyptair Plane

Officials say an Egyptair Flight with one Canadian onboard has crashed into the Mediterranean Sea.

The airline says the plane was flying from Paris to Cairo when it vanished from radar, ten minutes after entering Egyptian airspace.

Airline officials say a distress signal was picked up from the plane’s emergency device two hours after it disappeared.

The plane was carrying 56 passengers, seven crew and three security personnel.

Search and rescue teams have begun to search for the aircraft.

In October, a Russian passenger plane crashed over Eygpt’s Sinai Peninsula killing all 224 people onboard.

Moscow says the plane was brought down by an explosive device, and a local branch of the extremist Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for planting it.
