Calls For Second Road To Glace Bay Hospital

Area councillor Kevin Saccary says it’s time to build a second access road to the Glace Bay Hospital.

Saccary adds a route from the Donkin/Morien Highway to the Hospital is needed with the Donkin Mine coming onstream.

He goes on to say a road already exists next to the former heavy water plant site.

He adds it only needs a 1.6 kilometer extension from the end of Lake Road to South Street.

Saccary says he’s asked Glace Bay MLA and Transportation Minister Geoff MacLellan to request a feasibility study on the project.
