Cabot Trail Still Down to One Lane After Mudslide

The provincial Department of Transportation says a section of the Cabot Trail near Margaree Forks will remain down to one lane for most of the day today after two mudslides, yesterday.

No one was hurt in the slides which covered part of the road.

Crews spent the night on the scene and officials say the effort to clear mud and debris from the road continues.

The D-O-T blames a rapid freeze and thaw for the bank giving way.

A Department spokesperson says it intends to conduct an investigation into the mudslide.
