Bylaw Amendment Allows Sacred Heart Church Project To Go Ahead

Regional Council unanimously gave final approval at yesterday’s meeting to a bylaw change that will allow a project in Sydney’s North End to go ahead.

Kevin Colford plans to turn the former Sacred Heart Church into a venue for weddings, conferences, dinner theatre and concerts.

Council voted to approve the by-law change after most people who took part in a Public Participation Program supported the project.

The amendment will remove lot development, site plan approval and parking requirements for former community and education buildings that are not registered heritage properties.
